Food was first class and the portion of sweet & sour battered chicken was massive. Ordering was seamless and arrived ahead of time - Perfect!

Order very late - said it hadn’t been processed. Said they’d refund me, which they haven’t.

First virtually chickenless chicken chow mein I’ve ever had. Feel ripped off 😡

Really enjoyed our takeaway which was delivered nice and hot and on time. Two bags of prawn crackers were a welcome free gift.

Worse meal ever had from here. Chicken fried rice was barely cooked and completely tasteless. Only about 5 bits of chicken in it! Chips were soggy reheats. Sorry but really disappointed and will definitely think twice before ordering from here again

We were a bit worried about ordering after the Food Lodge changed hands but pleasantly surprised. Ordered online, pre-paid and collected. All went smoothly. Food tasted good 😊

We’ve been in Penicuik 5 years and used this Chinese regularly. Tonight, the food was amazing! Hot, full of flavour and large portions. Couldn’t fault it. Delivery driver was lovely too

Food excellent but very disappointed in the delivery time. Ordered at 18.08 delivered at 19.57.

Good was yummy as always ! Great communication, only down side was the time the delivery took. (About 1hr 20 mins)

Shocking. Ordered food at 6.34pm. Expected delivery time 80mins. Food arrived at 8:53. Driver strolled up the path without even an apology. This would not have been acceptable when Alan ran the place. Complete joke will not be back .

The Food Lodge is a bit of an enigma. On the food side is probably the best Chinese in Midlothian. Top marks for food quality. But as for delivery!! 2.5 hrs !!! Maybe victims of their own success but seriously need to look at upping game with deliveries. Particularly at weekends, it's the sort of thing that puts people off, which would be a shame as food is first class.

Waited over an hour for just a chicken dish and a fried rice. Also ordered a can of juice which never came with the order but was on receipt. Chicken tasted burnt and was chewy.
